about

Born and raised in Rochester, I'm proud to call the Flour City home. After graduating from Merrimack College in Andover, MA, I returned to Rochester and started a job at the world's premier specialty cooking retail store. There, I was the store's Culinary Expert and led weekly cooking classes.

During off-hours (and sometimes slow spurts) I would spend my spare time reading through 100's of cookbooks. I started cooking for friends and family as often as possible. From there, my love for all things food developed into a true passion.

I started this blog in 2008 as a virtual platform to share my recipes. 12 years later, you'll now find content on restaurant visits, culinary experiences, and more.

From 2012 to 2018, my love for food and writing came to fruition when I was asked to be one of the new restaurant reviewers for our region's largest media organization, the Democrat & Chronicle. It was truly a privilege and pleasure to have my name on the byline.

Our region has the potential to be a dining destination. Our local culinary canvas is united by lush seasonal agriculture that can provide chefs with fresh ingredients to enliven their plates. We are an educated and informed community with a vast interest in food. It's truly an exciting time to be living in Western and Upstate New York. I'm lucky to touch upon just a fragment of what's going on here.

I am also proud to be a writer/contributor to the relaunched Rochester Food Net, a multi-media collaborative effort to explore the local food scene.
